Ms. Nester received her J.D. from Stanford Law School.  She received her B.A., with distinction, and M.A. in Political Science from Yale University. 

Prior to joining Togut, Segal & Segal LLP, Ms. Nester was an associate in the litigation group of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where she represented financial and other commercial institutions in securities, antitrust, and other complex litigations.  Her experience includes:

  • Defending a major financial institution in a fraudulent conveyance adversary proceeding brought by the debtors’ unsecured creditors
  • Obtaining dismissal in the Bankruptcy Court and affirmance by the District Court on behalf of banking client in lawsuit involving tortious interference with contract and prospective business relations claims
  • Defending securities class action lawsuit brought by shareholders in federal district court
  • Representing financial institution in connection with multiple lawsuits related to residential mortgage-backed securities
