Charles Persons' practice is focused on debtor and creditor representations in complex chapter 11 cases, out-of-court reorganizations and refinancings, distressed acquisitions, debtor-in-possession financing, and a variety of bankruptcy litigation matters, including appellate litigation.  Mr. Persons led teams in the chapter 11 debtor representations of Westinghouse Electric Company; Golfsmith International Holdings, Inc.; Texas Rangers Baseball Partners; Dallas Stars, L.P.; Endeavour International Corp.; Electrical Components International; and Azure Midstream Partners; as well as several public and private out-of-court restructurings, including The Brock Group, Inc.  Additionally, Mr. Persons led teams representing creditor groups in various distressed situations, including ad hoc secured lender groups in the chapter 11 cases of Energy & Exploration Partners and Magnum Hunter Resources, as well as the Unsecured Creditors Committee of SunEdison, Inc.  In addition to his experience with multinational restructurings in the retail, aviation, automobile, and manufacturing industries, Mr. Persons has considerable experience advising clients in the oil & gas industry on restructuring matters and has published several articles discussing the intersection of oil & gas law and restructuring law.
