The Togut Firm congratulates our partner Frank A. Oswald who was a co-honoree of the 2024 Saint Francis Service Award presented at the annual Catholic Renewal reception held on September 12, 2024 at the New York Athletic Club, with His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Mr. Oswald’s family and friends, and more than 400 restructuring professionals in attendance. The Saint Francis Service Award recognizes members of the restructuring community who, regardless of creed, have demonstrated a standard of integrity, humility, and charity that warrants the acclaim of their peers. Mr. Oswald, a member of Catholic Renewal’s leadership, was joined by this year’s co-honoree Heather Lennox, Global Practice Leader of the Business Restructuring & Reorganization at Jones Day.
Catholic Renewal’s 2024 campaign was a tremendous success, raising a record-high $1.9 million for Catholic Charities’ Feeding Our Neighbors program, which provides 8 million meals annually to more than 600,000 New Yorkers in need. Since its inaugural reception 13 years ago, Catholic Renewal has now raised more than $14 million for the food pantries programs operated under Catholic Charities for the Archdiocese of New York .
For more than 37 years at the Togut Firm, Mr. Oswald has represented corporate debtors, creditors, trustees, and other stakeholders in both in and out-of-court restructuring matters. He has consistently been recognized in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and New York Super Lawyers. Mr. Oswald is a member of the EDNY’s Bankruptcy Judges’ Chapter 11 Lawyers Advisory Committee, the Board of the Turnaround Management Association (NY Chapter), and a member of the ABI’s Committee on Healthcare Law. He is also a Board Member of Elizabeth Seton Children’s, Chairman of the Board of Elizabeth Seton Children’s Foundation, member of the Executive Board and Treasurer of the Jewish Community Center of Staten Island, and a member of the Foundation Board for the Richmond County University Hospital.
