The Togut Firm proudly congratulates Managing Partner Frank A. Oswald on the occasion of his 40th anniversary with the Firm—a milestone that coincides with the Firm’s 46th year in existence. For over four decades (and counting), Frank has been an integral part of the Firm’s success, reputation, and growth.
Since joining the Firm in 1986, Frank has exemplified the highest standards of professionalism and dedication to clients. One year after his arrival, the Firm was retained to represent the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the landmark Finley, Kumble bankruptcy case—an engagement that helped shape the Firm’s future. It is no surprise that Frank is regarded as the Firm’s “lucky charm.”
Over the ensuing decades, Frank played a central role in building the Firm into what it is today. He helped train and mentor every lawyer who came through the Firm’s doors, and in a very real sense, the Firm’s growth and enduring reputation reflect his guidance and example. No less, Frank is a respected leader in the broader community, with longstanding leadership roles in numerous charitable organizations, including Elizabeth Seton Children’s, Catholic Renewal, Richmond University Medical Center, and the JCC of Staten Island. He was awarded the Saint Francis Service Award by Catholic Renewal in 2024 in recognition of his community service.
Frank’s professional achievements over the years are also extensive. Among other distinctions, he has been named a New York Super Lawyer every year since 2010, including one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers in the New York Metro Area, recognized by Chambers & Partners in the field of Bankruptcy / Restructuring, named among the Best Lawyers in America® in the field of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law, and holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubble peer review. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee to the Bankruptcy Judges of the Eastern District of New York.
As Managing Partner, Frank’s steady leadership has made a lasting impact on the Firm, its many clients over the years, and its professional colleagues, past and present.
